Nueva School IQ Testing: WPPSI-IV and WISC-V

Clarity Educational Psychology is included on Nueva's psychologist resource list, and Nueva accepts assessment reports from any licensed psychologist. Testing is done here by Claire McCann, a Licensed Educational Psychologist.

What Nueva requires

Grades preK through 8
Nueva includes an IQ assessment in the admissions process for grades preK through 8. It is not required for Upper School applicants.
Ages 3 years 10 months to 5 years 11 months: WPPSI-IV
Younger applicants take the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence, Fourth Edition.
Ages 6 and older: WISC-V
School-age applicants take the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fifth Edition.
Grades 5 through 8: WISC-V
Middle school applicants take the WISC-V.

Key dates

Grades preK through 8: results due Tuesday, January 5, 2027
IQ assessment results for applicants to grades preK through 8 must be submitted to Nueva by this date.
Round II pre-K: results due Tuesday, March 16, 2027
Round II pre-K applicants have a later date to submit results.
Schedule as soon as your child meets the age requirement
Nueva recommends having your child assessed as soon as they reach the age requirement. Booking early leaves room before your deadline. Results here are ready in about one week or less.
